Eastshade’s 2024 character devlog described over 100 unique characters, many with schedules. A later developer-authored casting post stated 150+ voiced characters. These are dated development claims, not a verified final roster or a list of everyone’s locations.

Characters are part of the game’s structure
The official overview emphasizes classmates, staff, townsfolk and other inhabitants, with story-led quests and a voiced presentation. The character devlog describes how the team builds and animates a large cast. It also notes that many characters have schedules and some change outfits.
These details help explain why finding a person may depend on context. They do not identify every character, give an exact spawn location or establish relationship mechanics. A role visible in a screenshot needs its own verification before it becomes an entry with a name and biography.
Read the counts as dated statements
The official March 2024 announcement said the cast had passed 100 unique characters. A January 2026 casting post by Danny Weinbaum described 150+ voiced characters. We label the latter as developer-authored community evidence and use it as supporting context.
Neither statement is a final database export. We do not combine the two into a precise roster count, assume all roles have equal depth, or generate 150 blank profiles. A later count can reflect development growth without making the earlier source incorrect.
What an individual character page will need
For a useful character lookup, identity is only the beginning. A player may need a role, a location, an event condition or a relevant quest. Those fields should be tied to the build where they were observed, especially if the character’s day can change.
Until those details are checked, this page points to the official character and NPC-life explanations. The schedule guide describes how to keep an observation useful, and the world chapter helps distinguish an illustrated location from a measured map. No favorite gifts or romance rules are inferred from the general promise of making friends.
