The short answer

The public Songs of Glimmerwick demo is available from its Steam store page. It launched on April 7, 2026 and covers the beginning of the adventure. Eastshade describes it as over two hours and says saves continue into the full game.

Use the official download

Open the Steam store page linked here and choose the demo download. Check that the game title and developer match Songs of Glimmerwick and Eastshade Studios. A third-party page offering a full-game download before the planned release is not the public demo channel documented by the developer.

Demo availability was verified on September 13. We have not established a removal date. A seasonal festival ending does not, by itself, prove that the demo has been withdrawn; check the actual store button when you plan to play.

The beginning of the game, with a personal pace

The April preview announcement describes the demo as the first few hours of the game. The later June announcement puts it at over two hours. Treat that as a developer description of scope, not a completion deadline or a measured time for every player. Reading dialogue, exploring and returning to music practice will change your session length.

The full game is presented around a year of school life, seasons and activities. That is not a claim that the demo includes every class, season or side activity. Our reference pages distinguish announced full-game systems from specific demo patch behavior.

Returning after an early attempt

Read the dated patch log before judging the current demo by an April walkthrough. Version 0.466 added more help for the music minigame and explained that spellcasting does not require stars. Version 0.484 made the first song easier and fixed a watering-can soft lock.

If you stopped because of music difficulty, those changes are especially relevant. Update through Steam, review the in-game options, and follow the current prompts. We have not personally tested this build, so the linked guides report official changes rather than claiming a complete hands-on walkthrough.
