The developer is simulating lives, not just positions
The NPC-life devlog discusses where characters go, what they do and how the team manages them. The earlier character update also describes many characters as dynamic, with schedules and occasional outfit changes. That is first-party evidence for the system’s existence.
It is not a published timetable. We have not extracted a verified list of daily stops, conditional overrides or route transitions from the full game. The future schedule finder remains unavailable until those facts can answer a player’s location question reliably.
A useful observation needs context
If you are making your own notes, record the character’s exact displayed name, the place, the day or season shown, and any active event that may matter. Add the game version and whether the same observation can be repeated. These are research practices, not claims that every listed condition changes every NPC.
A screenshot showing one person in a shop proves an encounter in that scene. It does not prove that the person owns the shop, appears there every afternoon or follows the same routine after a story event. Those relationships need independent evidence.
Account for the game’s unusual clock
Eastshade says time freezes during events and every evening. That makes a simple real-time stopwatch an unreliable substitute for the game’s displayed schedule context. Record what the game shows, rather than converting elapsed wall-clock minutes into an invented in-game hour.
The day planner can hold a reminder to revisit someone, but it does not predict an NPC’s location. When verified data becomes available, a schedule result will need to show its build and limits. An unknown result should remain unknown rather than being filled by the nearest plausible routine.
