The short answer

The demo is the opening portion of Songs of Glimmerwick, while the full game is advertised as a year of magical school life, exploration and seasonal activities. Demo saves are intended to continue, but a complete demo-versus-launch content list is not yet verified.

A comparison without an invented feature count

The strongest distinction is scope: the developer calls the demo the beginning of the adventure, not a separate challenge mode. That lets you evaluate the setting, dialogue and music-based interaction while keeping the option of continuing later. It does not establish an exact percentage of the final game.

A calendar year inside a game is not the same thing as a fixed number of real-world hours. We do not convert the announced year into a campaign-length estimate, a number of quests, or a count of required play sessions.

Announced systems are not a demo checklist

Steam describes university gardening, songs that affect the world, classes, character progression and extracurricular activities. A system appearing in that overview establishes its place in the planned product, but it does not tell us how much of that system the public demo exposes.

Likewise, screenshots of skills or locations are not a full unlock list. If you cannot reach something pictured on the store page, it may be outside the demo scope; that alone is not evidence that your save is broken.

Compare the right versions

The demo has changed since April. Music assistance, regional controls and several soft-lock fixes arrived through public patches, so early preview impressions may describe an older experience. The patch ledger records these changes with dates rather than treating the initial demo as a permanent baseline.

On launch day this comparison needs another pass for actual content boundaries, save behavior and any changed controls. Until then, the demo is useful for deciding whether the basic experience suits you, while final progression and content-completion claims remain open.
