The short answer

Songs of Glimmerwick lists eight interface and subtitle languages on Steam. English is the only language marked for full audio. The demo localization update added the other seven text languages in May 2026.

Text localization is different from dubbing

A checkmark for interface and subtitles means the listing advertises translated text for those parts of the experience. It does not mean that the dialogue has been recorded in that language. Steam identifies English as the full-audio language in the current listing.

That distinction matters for a dialogue-heavy game. You can compare the text language you prefer with the voice track that is actually advertised, rather than expecting eight separate dubs from an “eight languages” headline.

What changed in the demo

The May localization announcement added Simplified Chinese, German, Russian, Brazilian Portuguese, Spanish from Spain, French and Japanese alongside English. The API timestamp falls on May 12 UTC; Steam’s local display can show May 11. These refer to the same announcement, not two separate language updates.

The developer asked for feedback about missing text and font issues. A later June patch fixed text in the map legend for certain languages. Those notes show ongoing corrections; they do not establish that every line or screen has been independently checked by this wiki.

Check your preferred language in the demo

Use the current game and Steam settings to inspect the language you intend to play in. Pay particular attention to dialogue, menu labels and map text, since those are different surfaces and can be affected differently by a localization issue.

Languages requested in a community thread are not supported languages until the developer or current store lists them. We do not add Turkish, Ukrainian, Traditional Chinese or other translations to this table based on requests alone. The exact regional labels above preserve the distinctions made by Steam.
