The short answer

Before starting the demo, confirm your Windows Steam setup, choose a supported text language, check current input prompts and read the optional music-help note. Keep your demo save if you want to continue into the full game.

Check the computer, not a generic compatibility claim

The Windows version is the platform currently listed. Compare the official requirements with your own machine, paying attention to the Steam-client Windows caveat rather than relying on the game’s legacy minimum OS field alone. Storage, memory and graphics requirements are separate checks.

A controller-support label does not prove Steam Deck compatibility or native support for macOS or Linux. If you are using a nonstandard setup, evaluate that specific configuration with the public demo instead of treating a broad platform headline as a benchmark.

Choose the text and input experience you need

Steam lists eight interface and subtitle languages, with English full audio. If you depend on a particular language, check the regional variant in the matrix. A requested localization in a forum is not the same as a listed translation.

The current API advertises camera comfort, color alternatives, volume controls, subtitle options, saving and play without timed input. Those are store declarations. Open the actual options to judge their range; this wiki has not measured font sizes, tested assistive devices or certified every control method.

Remove one common worry before the tutorial

Music mastery is not a mandatory star gate for spellcasting. The developer explicitly clarified this in 0.466 and added extra help in the options. If you struggle with the first performance, look for the current assistance rather than assuming you must perfect the song to continue.

Regional bindings and some controller prompts changed during early patches. Follow what your installed game displays. Once you have a save you want to keep, mark your preparation checklist and record a recognizable stopping point. Eastshade says that progress will continue in the full game, but the launch transfer itself has not yet been tested here.
