The short answer

Click the right stick to open the map on controller, according to demo 0.465. For flute actions, follow the current on-screen sequence: this wiki has not verified a complete pad layout. Music stars are not required to cast spells.

Press the stick; do not just move it

A right-stick click is the inward press of the stick, distinct from tilting it to move a cursor or camera. Eastshade explicitly named that action when adding direct map access in 0.465. Use the current game’s prompt if you have changed the mapping.

We do not fill the remaining buttons with a familiar console layout from another game. Movement, interaction, note input and menu controls should be read from the current tutorial until a complete build-specific controller sheet can be verified.

If the flute tutorial is confusing

Public players have asked why a flute tutorial seems to acknowledge them without producing the expected garden effect. That report identifies a real question, but it does not establish one universal cause. A rhythm performance, a spell action and an intended target should not be silently treated as the same step.

The official clarification we can apply is narrower: you do not need stars in the music minigame to cast. Repeating the performance solely to chase a star may therefore be solving the wrong problem. Re-read the current casting prompt and compare the action being requested before assuming a perfect score is needed.

Keep the device and version with the report

Early patch notes acknowledged PlayStation sprite issues, while the current store lists full controller support. If a displayed symbol still does not match your device, include that detail with the demo version and connection method when asking for help. A screenshot of the prompt is more useful than a guessed replacement binding.

We have not reproduced the flute issue on a controller, and do not offer an untested sequence as a fix. The current music-help option and the verified map shortcut are documented here; exact device-specific actions need direct confirmation from the game or developer.
